About Me

David A. Kinsley

I am currently a fifth year senior studying at The Pennsylvania State University to obtain my Bachelors degree in Architectural Engineer specializing in Construction Management. I expect to graduate in May of 2017.

This past summer, I had the opportunity to work for a mechanical contractor in Rockville, Maryland. There I went through a rotational program, gaining experience out in the Field, Estimating, Design and Engineering, and Construction Management Departments. It was interesting to see how the various departments communicated to complete a project.

In 2015 I studied abroad in China, gaining exposure to international construction at Tsinghai University, located in Beijing. In addition, I completed two classes at the University of Hong Kong, focusing on urbanization in China, and architectural design. The study abroad helped me view construction from a different perspective, and gain some international experience.

Prior to heading over to China in the summer of 2015, and for the entire summer of 2014, I was fortunate to work as an intern with Claris Construction, in Newtown, CT. I was responsible for organizing preconstruction budget estimates, and project timelines for multiple two to five million dollar projects. I was in charge of communicating with subcontractors and compared tasks and bid packages.
